No more “Sucker Punch” for Amanda Seyfried. Entertainment Weekly reports that scheduling conflicts with HBO’s “Big Love” has forced Seyfried to withdraw from the Zack Snyder film. Being that Snyder has already cast a significant amount of Hollywood’s young promising ladies, he might have a difficult time filling the roll of Babydoll, a young girl who is forced into a mental institution by her stepfather and makes her grand escape through her imagination. Vanessa Hudgens, Emma Stone, Evan Rachel Wood and Abbie Cornish remain attached to the project, which is aiming for an October 8th, 2010 release.

| Amanda Seyfried Drops Out of Zack Snyder's 'Sucker Punch' |
Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch just lost its Baby Doll, according to Entertainment Weekly.
[...]
There's no word on who might step up to replace her. Just about every other young up-and-comer (Evan Rachel Wood, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, and Emma Stone) were negotiating to join, so the pickings are slim. One of them might be able to angle for the lead now that Seyfried is gone. Or maybe Snyder should look to someone even younger -- is Emma Watson free? (Read More?)

| Is Warners Nuts for Backing Snyder's 'Sucker Punch'? |
Shortly after Watchmen's second weekend in theaters, word began to spread that because the film was a financial failure, Warner Brothers would stop making R-rated superhero movies (even though Watchmen wasn't really a "superhero movie") and start concentrating more on PG-13 superhero movies, like The Dark Knight (which should've been R-rated). Confused yet? But that's not stopping Warners from taking wild chances on other R-rated material, like Zack Snyder's $100 million all-female "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns," Sucker Punch -- due to begin production this fall (with an October 2010 release date), starring Evan Rachel Wood, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, and Emma Stone. | 'High School' Cast Graduates After Big-Screen Sequel |
SALT LAKE CITY — School's out for summer. Out for good, actually. At least for Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel — the six principal players in Disney's High School Musical franchise.
Shooting just wrapped for their big-screen grand finale, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, due Oct. 24. While a fourth film is in the works, no one expects the primary players to return.
But for much of the spring and summer, the actors were together again at East High, where the original Disney Channel movie took off in 2006 and became a pop culture sensation, fueled by drama and dance numbers from Efron and Hudgens' sweethearts Troy and Gabriella; their pals Bleu and Coleman; and twin rivals played by Tisdale and Grabeel. | "Identified" Album Review |
Give High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens credit for confounding critical expectations on her sophomore release — even if it's just for a single song. "Last Night" sounds like the work of a different artist than the Disney Channel icon; the Scott Jacoby-produced track is a surprisingly mature blues-pop number that inspires an equally gritty vocal performance.
It might have been a great jumping-off point for more surprises, but the remainder of the disc is formulaic teen fare — sometimes charming, as on the discofied single "Sneakernight"; occasionally club-happy and tuneless ("Hook It Up"); overall catchy enough to ensure it'll survive a summer in heavy rotation before being discarded. None of it tries too hard to prove Hudgens' sophistication — which is to be expected, given the gargantuan presence of "HSMIII" on the horizon, and probably wise, following the nude photo flap surrounding Hudgens that has since died down.
As a placeholder for Hudgens' future career, "Identified" serves its purpose, even if it's seldom identifiable as her own work. Once she's free of the High School Musical franchise, here's hoping she picks up where "Last Night" leaves off.

| Vanessa's Future Work With Zac |
Vanessa Hudgens says she wants to work with boyfriend Zac Efron again in the future.
Vanessa -- who starred alongside Zac in Disney's High School Musical -- says she wouldn't rule out teaming up with her boyfriend again later in her career.
She explains, "No-one says it's the last time we work together -- who knows what the future will bring?"
19-year-old Vanessa -- who plays Gabriella Montez in the hit show -- also said she and Zac stay "focused" during the filming of the intricate dance sequences for the movie.
She added to People magazine, "We're very focused as dance partners. We want to get it right and we have so much fun together that even if things do get difficult, we still try to churn it out and have fun with it."
However, Zac -- who stars as Troy Bolton in the films -- revealed it is Vanessa who helps him with the complicated routines.
He added, "Vanessa's definitely the stronger dancer. If I forget the next move, she'll lead me. We have to help each other, that's what we do."
